BITE DANCE

A collaboration between dance artists Zoë Bishop and Alice White

Having both graduated with First Class degrees from Trinity Laban in 2015, Zoë and Alice went on to perform with Map Dance postgraduate touring company, where their collaboration began. Their choreographic work has been shown at the City of London Festival, Swallowsfeet Festival, The Dance Trail at Brighton FringeResolution 2017 at The Place, FLESH at Styxx Bar London and Festival of Giants at Milton Keynes Fringe. During their training, Zoë and Alice performed works by world renowned choreographers including Lea Anderson, Liz Aggiss, Richard Alston and Kevin Finnan.

Bite Dance are currently interested in exploring the act of laughter in performance. They are passionate about their work being both intelligent and entertaining on equal levels. The duo's vision for the future is to produce engaging and comical works through developing their practice on laughter, making for memorable, interactive and exciting audience experiences.

GET TO KNOW US

Zoë Bishop trained at Trinity Laban, graduating with a First Class (Hons) degree in Contemporary Dance. She is a former member of Mapdance postgraduate Company where she performed works by Richard Alston, Liz Aggiss, Kevin Finnan, Lila Dance & iLDance in the Spring Tour 16’. She has performed professionally for Lea Anderson and her own work has been shown at platforms such as City of London Festival, Laban Theatre and the Brighton Dance Trail (Brighton Fringe). She currently works as a freelance dance artist, performing, choreographing and teaching and is in the process of becoming a registered yoga teacher. She recently performed for Flexer & Sandiland at the Fabrica Gallery and is a company dancer for Elisha Hamilton Dance.

Alice White trained at Trinity Laban where she gained a First Class (Hons) degree in Contemporary Dance. She was a member of Map Dance 2016, touring works by Richard Alston, Kevin Finnan, Liz Aggiss, Lîla Dance and il Dance. She also trained at the Martha Graham School on the summer intensive in 2014. Alice is currently working freelance as a performer, writer and choreographer. She is a dancer with Watts Dance and has danced professionally for Lea Anderson. Her work has been at various platforms including the Brighton Dance Trail (Brighton Fringe), Swallowsfeet and A Day In The Life at Trinity Laban.
